The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Ice picks:

Saturday's best NHL bets

Nashville Predators at Dallas Stars (-120, 5)

There is a log-jam in the Western Conference, and both the Predators and the Stars are smack in the middle.

As of Friday evening, places five through 12 are separated by just six points. It's a five-way tie for sixth in the conference and all five of those teams have played the same number of games (61). Among those tied? Nashville and Dallas.

Both teams, however, appear to be heading south. The Predators are 1-4 in their last five games and the Stars have won only one of their last six. Nashville has been dismal on the road of late and Dallas has been terrible at home. Something has to give on Saturday, so what's it gonna be?

The Stars showed signs of life on Thursday by ending a five-game losing streak with a 4-1 upset of Detroit. The Predators have not been showing much of anything, in part because of injuries. Matthew Lombardi is dealing with post-concussion syndrome, Cal O'Reilly has a broken fibula, and the team announced on Thursday that Marcel Goc will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery.

"Center ice has been really decimated," coach Barry Trotz told the Tennessean. "That was an area we're trying to strengthen all the time. It has been a challenge and guys will have to step up."

Pick: Dallas

Washington Capitals at New York Islanders (139, 5.5)

What's gotten into the Islanders? They have won eight of 13 games since the All-Star break, and while that is nothing short of outstanding by their standards, it's not the real story.

The real story is the rate at which New York is scoring goals. Since the break, the team has scored a whopping 48 goals in its 13 outings. The Islanders went for nine against Pittsburgh on February 11 and found the back of the net seven times two days later at Buffalo.

"They're doing the right things," interim coach Jack Capuano told NHL.com of his players. "When you do the right things, you get rewarded. The guys are playing within the guidelines we're giving them. They're shooting pucks. Good things happen when you get pucks on net."

The Capitals have not done much in the way of scoring or giving up goals over their past three games, but they did win a 7-6 shootout last week at Anaheim.

Pick 'n' roll:

Saturday's best basketball bets

Boston Celtics at Los Angeles Clippers

The Celtics shipped off Kendrick Perkins to the Oklahoma City Thunder just before Thursday's trade deadline and paid for it later in the day. Boston got hammered at Denver -- which had just made a deal of its own -- by 14 points. Without any real big man other than Glen Davis, the Celtics got out-rebounded 52 to 38.

As for the trade that brought in Jeff Green (who should make his debut on Saturday), coach Doc Rivers hopes it eventually pays off.

"We needed to get a ‘3’ and a ‘4’ as far as a swing guy," Rivers told the Boston Globe. "This gives us the ability to do what I did the year we won it, which is at times we can go small with Green at ‘4’ and Kevin (Garnett) at the ‘5’ and Paul (Pierce) and Ray (Allen) and it spread the floor. I think people forget how many times we did that in the playoffs. We haven’t been able to duplicate that."

A key assumption to the deal is Shaquille O'Neal will return from injury. Shaq should be healthy when the Celtics need him for the playoffs, but he won't be ready for Saturday due to his Achilles' problem. Fellow big man Jermaine O'Neal won't return until April because of a knee injury.

The trade may pay dividends in the future, but it won't against the Clippers.

Pick: Clippers

Syracuse Orange at Georgetown Hoyas (-1.5, 134.5)

Georgetown will be playing its first game without point guard Chris Wright, who suffered a broken left hand in Wednesday's 58-46 loss to Cincinnati. Wright underwent successful surgery on Friday and could make it back for the NCAA Tournament. But not this weekend.

For now, the Hoyas will have to deal with his absence. They had won nine of 10 games prior to Wednesday's setback and it will be tough to get back on track without their leading scorer, who averages 13.1 points per outing. Freshman Markel Starks and sophomore Vee Sanford are expected to see increased minutes.

This season's previous meeting between the two Big East rivals came on February 9 at the Carrier Dome, where Georgetown scored a 64-56 road victory. Wright had six points, nine assists and five rebounds in the victory. Austin Freeman led the way with 14 points for the Hoyas, who won the rebounding battle 28 to 21 and held Syracuse to 39.6 percent shooting (including 4-of-16 from beyond the arc).

Georgetown will soon find that life without Wright is just wrong.

Bettors' best friend (BBF): Saturday's wagering tips

Who’s hot

NHL: The Kings are 10-4 in their past 14 games overall.

NCAAB: Arizona is 6-2-1 ATS in its past nine games overall.

NCAAB: Texas is 7-1 ATS in its past eight road games.

NBA: The Clippers are 8-2 ATS in their past 10 home games.

NBA: The Kings have seen the over go 7-1 in their past eight against the Western Conference.

Who’s not

NHL: The Penguins have seen the under go 7-2-1 in their past 10 games overall.

NCAAB: Villanova has seen the under go 7-2 in its past nine games overall.

NCAAB: San Diego State has seen the under go 11-4 in its past 15 games overall.

NBA: The Bucks are 1-6-1 ATS in their past eight games against the Central Division.

NBA: The Jazz are 7-19 ATS in their past 26 games overall.

Key stat

3 – Road shutouts this season for Blackhawks rookie goaltender Corey Crawford. The young netminder from Quebec is 21-12-3 overall this year with a 2.11 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage. But he has truly has been a brick wall on opposing ice. Crawford is 9-3-3 away from the Windy City this year with a microscopic 1.75 goals-against average in those games. He also has yet to allow more than three goals in any of his 15 away starts this season.

Injuries that shouldn't be overlooked

Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger left late in the third period of his team’s 4-3 overtime win against the New York Islanders with a hand injury. The team took X-ray’s which were negative on Thursday night, but Pronger was still having trouble even gripping his stick on Friday night and likely will be out against the Senators on Saturday. Pronger, who missed more than a month with a broken foot earlier this season, has four goals and 20 assists and is plus-11 this year.

“His hand is a little bit swollen,” Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said. “We did recall (Erik) Gustafsson (from the AHL), so he’ll join the team in Ottawa. Whether Chris can play or not is too soon to tell. We’ll have a better idea tomorrow.”

Biggest game on the slate

Florida Gators at Kentucky Wildcats (-8, 136.5)

Notable quotable

"Not close on one single issue. This WILL go into September." – Text message from an anonymous agent to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on the status of negotiations this week. The unknown agent was in the meetings with the NFLPA, NFL, owners and a mediator early on Friday morning.

Tips and notes

Any thoughts about playing Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne in even a head-to-head matchup this weekend at Phoenix took a hard turn into the wall on Friday. During his first practice session at Phoenix International Speedway, Bayne slammed into Turn 3. Qualifying is Saturday and he still can make a run, but his car was put out of service due to the damage of the wreck and he now must both qualify and race with a backup he couldn’t use until late Friday due to maintenance issues. "When we left pit road I told our guys the brakes weren't working right," Bayne said. "I went into the turn and the brakes just locked up. The brake pressure didn't feel right and I went into the wall. Something just went wrong."

Beware of the Arizona Wildcats against tough defenses. The team was stunned, 65-57 at USC on Thursday night due to a stagnant offense that frequently devolved into one-on-one attacks at the rim and contested jumpers. The team finished with just two assists – the fewest for the team in 15 seasons – and Lamont James was the only starter who actually registered an assist in the game. On the season, Arizona averages 14.6 helpers per game and hadn’t had fewer than nine in a contest all year. Watch out if the Wildcats face a strong man-to-man team that can force them to slow down, play in a half-court game and be patient. “When you dribble the ball and draw two defenders, the rule is to pass,” said Arizona coach Sean Miller.

Look for the New Orleans Hornets to be well rested in the coming games. Center Emeka Okafor (11.1 points, 10.1 rebounds per game) has finally returned from a 10-game absence as he dealt with a strained left oblique. His fresh legs will be welcomed by forward David West, who took off Friday night’s game to deal with a death in the family. Though tragic, this will give his body yet another chance to heal for the stretch run, something never bad for a player averaging 19.1 points per game. And to help both out, recently acquired forward Carl Landry, along with his 11.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, should be ready to go after being buried in a horrendous frontcourt rotation in Sacramento. The real question now, is which player will get the most lobs from point guard Chris Paul?

Hockey Night In Canada: NHL betting preview

Pittsburgh Penguins at Toronto Maple Leafs (-162, 5.5)

Are you old enough to remember yearbooks and game programs, picking one up on your way to your seats so you knew who played for who? Well, you may have to go old school for this one, because many names and faces have changed places on both sides, as two new-look teams collide on primetime.

Leafs showing life

Toronto has been one of the more active trade participants this month and most of the personnel has been going out, rather than coming in. Gone are defensemen Tomas Kaberle and Francois Beauchemin, as well as forward Kris Versteeg.

But the reaction on the team has been good. Perhaps they all know they better pick up their game or they soon may be in a new location themselves. Whatever it is, the Maple Leafs have a little jump these days.

Thursday’s 5-4 win over Montreal was their second straight victory and fourth in the past five games. They have at least one point in all five during this stretch and have eight wins this month.

Penguins turn to old reliable

It was rumored for weeks and though he may not have been their first choice to provide some offense up front, Alex Kovalev will have to do for the Penguins.

Pittsburgh, minus forwards Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, needed some punch and when it appeared that New Jersey center Jason Arnott wouldn’t be available immediately, the Penguins turned to one of their former players. On Thursday, they shipped a seventh-round pick to Ottawa for the veteran forward, who had 14 goals for the Senators.

Kovalev is now 38 and the Penguins are clearly not getting the player they traded away to the Rangers in 2003. But he can help and that’s all they can ask for, especially considering they are just 2-5-2 in their last nine games.

Reimer the reliable

Who would have thought that we’d be talking about James Reimer being the Maple Leafs’ top goalie this far into the season? But he’s been a key cog to this late run.

Reimer, who made 31 saves Thursday versus Montreal, is 10-4-2 with two shutouts, playing on a team with a marginal defense. Not too bad.

History

Think over. These two teams have gone past the total in eight of their last nine meetings, and in many, the number wasn’t even close. In the last three games together, 26 goals have been scored. In the way of sides, Pittsburgh has won three of four.

Boston Bruins at Vancouver Canucks (-140, 5.5)

This is a rare East-West matchup with name power and elite goaltenders in what is sure to be a playoff atmosphere. Dare we say a Stanley Cup final preview?

Lonely at the top

The Western Conference playoff race is an exciting one for just about every team except Vancouver it seems. Perhaps the Canucks are becoming complacent or just comfortable with the fact that they’re going to be the No. 1 seed.

But, either way, they have showed signs of boredom of late. They are in the midst of a 4-4 run in which they’ve yet to win or lose consecutive games. On Thursday, they outlasted the Blues, 3-2, at home, setting the table for the Bruins.

Golden goalies

After a night off versus St. Louis, Vancouver’s Roberto Luongo should be rested and ready in his matchup with Boston’s Tim Thomas. Luongo has 28 wins and a .924 save percentage. Thomas has 27 and a .939. Doesn’t get much better than that.

The matchup is actually an Olympic rematch, of sorts. Luongo was in net for Canada in the gold medal game last winter, while Thomas was on the bench for Team USA.

Terrific with Tomas

He hasn’t dented the scoreboard yet, but the Bruins are 2-0 with newly acquired defenseman Tomas Kaberle in their lineup. He’s picked up five blocked shots and two hits so far and is slowly working his way into the Boston system.

History

This matchup is tough to gauge, with just four meetings since 2005. The two teams have split those four contests with a 1-2-1 over/under mark.

BYU AT SAN DIEGO STATE: WHAT BETTORS NEED TO KNOW

BYU Cougars at San Diego State Aztecs (-3, 141)

Will the winner of this game earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament?

Maybe.

It really all depends on whether they can run the table in the Mountain West Conference Tournament a couple of weeks from now, but we're obviously talking about the two biggest favorites to claim the title.

No matter how you look at it, this appears to be the game of the weekend. Let’s take a deeper look.

History lesson

BYU has owned this series since March of 2008, taking six of the last seven meetings SU and five of those decisions ATS.

Of course, the Cougars and Aztecs have already met once this season, with BYU prevailing 71-58 as a 5.5-point home favorite. The Cougars actually trailed that game at halftime before rallying to outscore San Diego State 41-27 in the second half.

This has been an “under” series all the way. Dating back to January of 2008, seven of nine matchups have played under the number.

The Jimmer show

Cougars guard Jimmer Fredette has been all the rage this season, and for good reason. He’s averaging an NBA-like 27.4 points per game and hasn’t been held under 21 points since a game against Fresno Pacific on New Year’s Day. Keep in mind, he played only 22 minutes in that contest.

Fredette had one of his best games of the season against San Diego State back in late January, pouring in 43 points in a winning effort. Last year, Fredette scored 56 total points in two matchups with the Aztecs.

"Every shot he takes he believes is going in, and he has the ability to create space and square up his body to the rim. It may seem like he's off balance, but those are shots that he makes day in and day out,” SDSU guard D.J. Gay told reporters of Fredette.

As good as Fredette has been, the Cougars are still a mediocre 5-4 ATS when he scores more than 30 points in a game this season.

Home cooking

San Diego State has yet to fall at home this season, posting a perfect 14-0 record to date.

The Aztecs haven’t exactly been a covering machine here, however, as they’re just 7-5 ATS. They’re an even 3-3 ATS at home in Mountain West Conference action.

While SDSU is already known as one of the best defensive teams in the nation, it has taken it to a whole different level on this court.

The Aztecs are holding the opposition to just 55.6 ppg on 38.7 shooting as hosts this season. That’s not to mention the fact that they’re outrebounding opponents by more than seven boards per contest.

With all of that said, this remains a team focused on the task at hand.

"We're enjoying the success, but we're not worried about records. We want to win the next one. We'll worry about all things that happen in terms of 'first this, first that' hopefully in April,” SDSU head coach Steve Fisher said following his team’s win over Air Force last weekend.

Key trends

- BYU is 5-1 ATS in its last six games following an ATS loss, as is the case here.

- The over has cashed in six of the Cougars’ last eight road games.

- San Diego State loves playing on Saturdays. The Aztecs are 30-12-1 ATS in their last 43 lined Saturday contests.

- The under is 50-21-1 in the Aztecs’ last 72 lined home games.
